Lorna Farrell
Lorna Farrell is a watercolourist based in Moate, Co. Westmeath. She works in the public library; the artwork in the books she is surrounded by is a constant source of inspiration. As a country girl, the natural world, its birds are a large influence on her work. Having spent her formative years drawing and painting, the hobby was left to one side as she completed her BA in history and archeology and later an MA in history.
Coming back to art in her twenties, Lorna curated and participated in several group exhibitions in her hometown. Lorna uses loose, fluid brushstrokes which suit the predominant theme in her artwork – animals, birds and the natural world
